Lewes Man Arrested after Burglarizing Occupied Home
LEWES, Del. – The Delaware State Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police arrested 57-year-old Dale Andrews of Lewes on charges of first degree burglary of an occupied dwelling causing injury, and offensive touching. He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $20,500 cash bond.
Around 2:00 a.m. on Mar. 10, troopers responded to a residence on the 19000 block of Plantation Road for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, troopers heard the occupants of the residents yelling and pointing in the direction of where the suspect ran. Troopers located the suspect, identified as Andrews, and took him into custody without incident. The investigation revealed that Andrews entered the residence through an unlocked door and grabbed a 57-year-old man. Andrews ran away after being confronted by another occupant of the residence. The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries.
