Hot Water Heater Catches Fire at Mobile Home in Accomack Co.

WATTSVILLE, Va. – Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At 12:59 a.m. on Mar. 4, crews from the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company (CVFC) and the Atlantic Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company (AVFRC) responded to a residential fire on Davis Court. AVRFC responded to the scene and controlled the fire, which originated from a hot water heater in the residence. CVFC responded to assist with overhaul and ventilation of the structure.

Officials say early detection saved this incident from becoming a devastating fire.
