Fmr. Instructional Aide Charged with Sexual Assault of Parkside Student
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Wicomico Child Advocacy Center (WCAC) has announced sexual crime charges against a former Wicomico County Public Schools (WCPS) instructional aide.
On Friday, Mar. 13, detectives arrested 44-year-old Russell Lee Camper on crimes of second degree rape, child abuse, sexual abuse of a minor, second degree assault, and fourth degree sexual offense. WCAC officials say their investigation, which began the day prior, revealed that Camper is alleged to have sexually abused the child for several years prior to the initial report. A warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued by the District Court Commissioner.
Officials say the sexual assaults are alleged to have been committed while the victim was a student at Parkside High School. Camper was employed as an instructional aide by the Wicomico Board of Education from 2002 through 2025.
WMDT reached out to WCPS for comment, and will provide more details as they become available.
Anyone with information that may be related to this investigation is asked to contact Detective Sergeant J. Seichepine with WCAC at 410-334-6955 or 410-713-3900.
