KENT COUNTY, Del. – Three people have been arrested in connection to a drug investigation surrounding two businesses in Delaware.

Delaware State Police have arrested 25-year-old Maddyan Ata and 34-year-old Mohamed Lamar, both from Magnolia, as well as 20-year-old Alex Gomez-McDowell of Dover for felony drug offenses.

Back in June of 2025, detectives began investigating Ali Baba Smoke Shop in Dover and Liberty Happy Gas Station in Magnolia for large-scale distribution of drugs.

On March 4th, detectives executed search warrants at those locations and found numerous illicit drugs, paraphernalia, and digital scales, among other items.

All three were arrested and taken to Troop 3 and later arraigned.

Lamar and Gomez-McDowell were released on unsecured bond.

Ata was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution.
