Car Crashes into Tree in Harrington, Killing Driver
HARRINGTON, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed one on Thursday evening.
At 7:05 p.m. on Mar. 12, a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on Carpenters Bridge Road, just east of Jackson Ditch Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that the Pathfinder failed to negotiate a slight curve, ran off the north side of the roadway, and struck a tree.
The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Frederica, was taken to an area hospital where she died. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
The investigation is still ongoing by the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit. Troopers ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information to contact Master Corporal J.
