BREAKING: Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence charter revoked
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Delaware State Board of Education has voted to revoke the charter for Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence at the end of this school year.
Secretary of Education Cindy Marten made the announcement Thursday and says the revocation is the result of enrollment, financial and organizational concerns.
This comes after Marten placed the school on formal review in December.
The Delaware Department of Education’s Charter School Accountability Committee recommended the revocation of the charter last month following the formal review process.
Students of the school may return to the district schools in their home feeder patterns or choice into another district or charter school that is accepting students for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence opened in Fall of 2024 and serves students in grades 6 to 9.
