Bill addressing mental health provider shortage advances to House
DOVER, Del. – A bill that would modernize Delaware’s psychology licensing laws and expand access to mental health services has passed in the Senate.
Senate Bill 208 establishes a more streamlined pathway to certify psychology clinicians with a master’s degree.
This would help address the the ongoing workforce shortages and improve access to care across the state, particularly in rural communities.
The bill does not replace or reduce existing professional licenses, but instead adds a complementary role.
It now moves to the House for further consideration.
