Benefits of MyChart with TidalHealth

SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s Health Beat, brought to you by TidalHealth, WMDT spoke with the organization’s Digital Engagement Supervisor, Jenny Harsin, about the benefits of MyChart.

MyChart is a platform that allows patients to access all of their health information on one digital platform. No matter where individuals are seen in the TidalHealth system, they have access to the data related to the care they are receiving. Patients can view test results, provider feedback, and appointments all with a few clicks on a smartphone or computer.

“MyChart scheduling is huge for us right now,” Harsin says. “When you have a relationship with any of our providers here at TidalHealth, you can log on at any time of the day and schedule at your convenience.”

With that feature also comes self-registration, which allows patients to confirm appointments and fill out preliminary forms before seeing a provider. Another feature, MyChart Bedside, allows patients actively in emergency rooms to confirm details to reduce wait times. Additionally, patients can use the feature to contact nurses and make requests — including ordering your meals at the hospital.

“MyChart Bedside is one of our newest features that we are now able to highlight at each of our TidalHealth locations. It is a tool that is used when you are seen as an inpatient or in our ER for someone who is less likely to push the call button, you now have the option to just request ice kits, a warm blanket,” Harsin elaborates. “You don’t have to ring the cloud that won’t feel like you’re bothering a nurse.”
