Atlantic General Hospital Renamed to TidalHealth Atlantic

BERLIN, Md. – After Atlantic General Hospital (AGH) joined the TidalHealth system last year, the health organization has decided to rename the hospital TidalHealth Atlantic.

All campuses, physician offices, and diagnostic locations have transitioned to reflect the TidalHealth brand. Officials say the rebranding reflects the health system’s integration into the TidalHealth system, and reinforces a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible, patient-centered care across the region.

“It’s a change in name only,” says TidalHealth Atlantic President Don Owrey, MBA, FACHE. “What Atlantic General has stood for during its more than 30-year history is not going away — its mission, people and deep-rooted commitment to the community remain firmly in place.”

Two other locations were renamed as a part of the larger rebranding. TidalHealth Home Scripts and AGHRx RediScripts are now called TidalHealth Community Pharmacy, and Your Doc’s In is now TidalHealth Urgent Care. Additionally, AtlanticGeneral.org now redirects to TidalHealth.org, and all hospital updates will be posted to TidalHealth social media accounts.

The rebranding will not have an impact on services, locations, or care teams, and patients will continue to receive uninterrupted care. Further, no jobs will be lost as a part of the name change. Officials argue opportunities for growth and sharing of best practices will continue to be encouraged.

“The transition to TidalHealth Atlantic simply reflects the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to the communities we serve, and both healthcare teams have been proving that as partners for nearly a year,” says TidalHealth President and CEO Steve Leonard, Ph.D., MBA, FACHE. “Looking ahead, we will be expanding services, adding jobs and enhancing facilities so patients have even greater access to high-quality care close to home.”

TidalHealth has also made the transition from using FollowMyHealth to using Epic, an electric health record now utilized at all locations. Epic’s patient portal, MyChart, can be used to check in prior to appointments, view test results, manage refills, contact practitioners, and pay bills online. Starting Mar. 1, future services provided by TidalHealth Atlantic will be billed through TidalHealth. The existing AGH billing link will be available past this date to account for bills issued prior to the beginning of the month.

New signage is expected to be installed at rebranded locations by the first week of April. For more information on TidalHealth Atlantic, click here.
