WiHi Girls Basketball fall short to Bennett High School Clippers
SALISBURY, Md. – The Tribe needed this one tonight to have the best chance to play for the championship at the Civic Center.
However, the Bennett Clippers came to play, we start early as Jecolia Traore gets the block and leads her own fast break for the early bucket. She was a force throughout, using her size to her advantage.
Bennett played good basketball for the majority of the night. Khloe Manning gets it to Point Guard, Riyanna Vass gets the beautiful floater on the wing.
The Tribe made a comeback, and we’re down as much as 11, but here comes Se’Lah Foreman doing what she does – 3 balls and a little swagger to get the girls going.
Foreman was so good, controlling the pace and finding the spot for a floater of her own. Foreman dominated for the Tribe and brought the team back.
Traore got the rebound after a miss by the Indians, but Foreman doesn’t quit on the play. She got the steal and tough layup and had 11 points in the game.
The Indians were back in the game with a score of 56 to 56 with under a minute to play, but the Clippers all night long making tough baskets this time off the inbound, Jayla Johnson drives through several WiHi defenders and gets the bucket putting the Clippers up 2.
On the final possession with 4.2 seconds to go. Se’Lah Foreman attempts to throw up a heave after some good defense, but it’s no good.
The Clippers take this one – 58 to 56
