Wicomico Co. State of Emergency to be Lifted

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano announced the local State of Emergency will be lifted, effective as of  5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

“Our teams have done an outstanding job responding to this storm,” said Executive Giordano. “Because of their hard work and the cooperation of our residents, we are now in a position to safely lift the State of Emergency.”

The County’s Roads Division, Solid Waste Department, Fire and EMS, Sheriff’s Office, municipal law enforcement partners, Parks Division, and supporting staff operated continuously throughout the winter storm. Their coordinated efforts helped clear major roadways, respond to emergency calls, and maintain continuity of government services.

Residents are encouraged to continue using caution, particularly on secondary roads and in areas where lingering icy conditions may remain.

For additional updates, residents should visit the County’s official website or social media channels.
