UPDATE: Shelters Close at Dover High, Sussex Central Middle

UPDATE: The shelter at Dover High School closed at 11:30 a.m. and the shelter at Sussex Central Middle School in Georgetown closed at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

The Sussex County storm line will remain open at 302-856-7360.

 

DOVER, Del. — A public shelter has been opened at Dover High School to assist residents affected by current conditions in Kent County, local officials announced.

The shelter, located at 1 Dover High Drive in Dover, is available to anyone in need of a safe place to stay. Staff members are on-site to provide assistance and support services.

Residents seeking shelter are encouraged to bring essential personal items, including medications and personal hygiene products.

Officials said the shelter will remain open until further notice. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Community members are encouraged to share information about the shelter to help ensure those in need are aware of the available resources.
