Two Injured in Residential Shooting During Break-in; Dover PD Investigating

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent two adults to the hospital on Monday night.

Police say their investigation began at 8:17 p.m. when authorities received a call for a residential shooting in the unit block of Fairway Lakes Drive. Officers responded and found a 43-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was reportedly shot in her upper body while the man was shot in his lower body. They were both transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment.

There were four juveniles in the home when the shooting occurred, who were uninjured.

Police say their initial investigation determined that three to four suspects approached the sliding glass door to the apartment before firing several shots, striking the victims. There are no additional leads to release at this time.
