Show some love to local businesses this Valentine’s Day
SALISBURY, Md. — The City of Salisbury is hosting its Valentine’s Day Shop Local Event this Saturday.
Some businesses preparing for the special day include Mojo’s, Roadie Joe’s, Brick Room, Mogan’s, and Two Scoops Ice Cream & Waffles. All will serve up something sweet, from tasty dishes and photo booths to free carriage rides and pop-up workshops. The event promises something for everyone.
City of Salisbury Economic Development Manager Derek Jarmon said, “We want you to bring the family down. We want you to bring your sweetheart down. We’ve got free horse-and-carriage rides and a wonderful dessert crawl. It’s free, and you’ll have the opportunity to try different desserts and sweets from some of our best establishments here in Downtown.”
Delmarva Homegrown, a local business, is showing its love without the sweets. The business is offering its Super Bowl special for one more week. Owner Leann Marriner said the event is a great opportunity for people to enjoy Downtown Salisbury while showing support for local businesses this Valentine’s Day.
“We’re encouraging everyone to come down for lots of fun and activities — carriage rides, giveaways, and specials,” Marriner said. “All of our small businesses have goodies to give away to the first 100 people.”
The event will run from noon to 3 p.m. in Downtown Salisbury.
