Seaford man arrested on 6th DUI charge after traffic stop in Harrington
HARRINGTON, Del. — A 44-year-old Seaford man was arrested late Friday on a sixth-offense felony driving under the influence charge following a traffic stop in Harrington, authorities said.
The Delaware State Police said Marrco Bryant was taken into custody around 11 p.m. after a trooper observed a Ford F-150 traveling southbound on South Dupont Highway near Williamsville Road with an equipment violation.
During the stop, the trooper observed several signs of impairment while speaking with Bryant, police said. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and showed additional indicators of impairment before being taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of empty alcohol bottles, according to police. Authorities said a computer check revealed Bryant’s driver’s license was suspended and that he had five prior DUI convictions.
Bryant was transported to Troop 3, where he was charged with sixth-offense DUI, a felony; driving while suspended or revoked; and improper tail lights. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $5,101 cash bond.
Court records did not immediately indicate whether Bryant had obtained an attorney.
