Rehoboth Residents Asked to Mind Water Usage After Power Outage at Wastewater Facility
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The City of Rehoboth Beach is asking residents to mind their water usage following a power outage at the local wastewater facility.
Officials say that while the facility has maintained power through the use of its backup power systems and generators, instituting temporary conservation measures is a precaution as the system stabilizes. There is currently no risk to the plant’s infrastructure or to the nearby environment.
Water usage includes flushing toilets, showering, and other activities that require large amounts of water.
“Our priority remains protecting public health and maintaining reliable service for the community,” the City said on social media. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and support as crews continue working through the storm response.”
Additionally, trash pick-up in the City has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26.
