DOVER, Del. — Over 150 residents have been displaced after a pipe burst at a nursing home in Dover.

Residents of Harmony at Kent evacuated Monday afternoon after water damaged an area of the building. The Fire Marshal’s office required the home’s power to be turned off, forcing all residents in the independent living, assisted living, and memory care neighborhoods to evacuate.

Residents were transported to Harmony at Kent’s sister communities, Harmony at Glasgow and Harmony at Hockessin. The American Red Cross provided assistance in replacing the displaced residents’ cots with beds. Harmony Senior Services is awaiting clearance from the fire marshal and the state of Delaware. Representatives from Harmony at Kent say they are unsure when residents will be able to return.
