One airlifted after house fire in Snow Hill

SNOW HILL, Md. – Just after 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported residential fire in the 100 block of Ironshire Street.

Responding units observed fire in the second floor bedroom of the residence. Crews brought the blaze under control, and the fire was successfully contained to the bedroom.

Officials on the scene said an adult male occupant was transported via helicopter to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Snow Hill was assisted by Girdletree, Stockton, Pocomoke, and Newark Volunteer Fire Departments.

Deputies from the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office conducted a thorough investigation and determined the fire to be accidental and electrical in nature.
