Fuel Spills after Pickup Truck Drives over Bulkhead in St. Michaels

ST. MICHAELS, Md. – The St. Michaels Fire Department responded to a fuel spill related to a car accident on Friday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:52 a.m. on Feb. 27 for a fuel spill on Beach Avenue. Upon arrival, a pickup was discovered at rest over the bulkhead with a minor fuel leak. Crews quickly contained the leak while waiting on a tow company to arrive. Units remained on scene for approximately two hours.

Maryland Department of the Environment was notified as the spill was in the water.
