Downtown Salisbury Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Sweet Treats and Community Fun
SALISBURY, Md. — Downtown Salisbury drew couples, families and friends Friday afternoon for a Valentine’s Day celebration featuring horse-and-carriage rides, live music and a dessert crawl highlighting local businesses.
The event, held from noon to 3 p.m., offered free carriage rides in front of First Shore Federal and invited visitors to stroll through participating shops and restaurants for festive treats.
Sweet stops along the crawl included Cake Art, Two Scoops Ice Cream and Waffles, Mogan’s Oyster House, Roadie Joe’s, Brew River Restaurant and Bar, Mojo’s Urban Eatery and Brick Row Market. Participants sampled desserts and voted for their favorite stop for a chance to win a Downtown “Sweetheart” prize pack.
Residents Jenniebe and Miranda said the celebration created opportunities for neighbors to connect.
“I think this brings a great opportunity for kids to meet other kids and also folks to get together,” they said. “It’s really nice to see the community come together and experience restaurants you might not have tried before.”
City leaders said events like the Valentine’s Day celebration continue to showcase the charm of downtown Salisbury while supporting small businesses. Organizers said they are already planning additional events aimed at bringing the community together throughout the year.
