Dover 16-Year-Old Arrested after Early Morning Shooting; Second Suspect Wanted

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department (DPD) has arrested a 16-year-old male following a shooting that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At 1:18 a.m. on Feb. 25, police responded to the unit block of Village Drive after receiving a report of shots-fired. Upon arrival on the scene, it was determined that two occupied homes had been damaged by gunfire. Officers canvassed the area and located two suspects walking on Bicentennial Boulevard before they fled from police. The 16-year-old was shortly after arrested on Meetinghouse Lane by responding officers, and found in possession of a stolen .380 revolver. The second suspect has not been identified at this time. 

The 16-year-old was transported to the Dover Police Department, where he was processed and arraigned. He is charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (7 counts)
  • Receiving a Stolen Firearm
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Criminal Mischief (2 counts)
  • Resisting Arrest
