Discover Delmarva: High Tide VR
MILLVILLE, DE- High Tide VR in Millville- just minutes from the Delaware Beaches. Offers an immersive experience for visitors with state-of-the-art technology. Owner and Manager Michael Graham brought this idea to life back in 2025. “I really wanted to create an environment for everyone. Right, so we have games from 6 to 96. So it really is something for the entire family.”
Now with new technology comes the unknowns? How does it work? How do you play? Graham emphasizes not to worry, this is a great spot to learn! “We are really gaming guides, and we see the dynamic of the group or the family. And we walk through our games to provide them with the best experience.”
I grabbed two of my good friends, Daniel and Amber, to join as we got our safety presentation and gear to enter the virtual world! Graham says the equipment you need is minimal. “All we have here are headsets and controllers. So very safe, very- it’s not as restrictive as restrictive with our headsets, it auto focuses your vision for you.” We loaded in, adjusting to our new environment- with some mini games to help us get used to the controls, two buttons, and yourself “You share this space-right. So you walk your character physically throughout the environment. So there’s no use for the joystick anymore. Because you’re the joystick!”
We loaded into our virtual kitchen for our first game, which was one of the more challenging ones. We each manned a station and got to experience the rush of working at a restaurant. Chopping lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and grilling burgers isn’t as easy as it looks. Stick to my day job, pointing at the clouds.
We moved on to a zombie game where we found our groove after failing in the kitchen. We locked in and were running up the score while still competing against one another. Just watch your back, you may turn around and find a visitor that’ll make you jump
It’s much more than just playing a video game, as your mind is transported and starts to trick your body. Graham says this experience is one you won’t find with a console at your house, “But what we have here you cannot recreate at home. Right? So again, you can play with up to six players in each of our arenas. It’s very immersive, you work together, a lot of teamwork, very safe.”
