All4Love Hosting Dorchester Youth Football & Cheer
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – A local nonprofit is carrying on the legacy of a program that’s been running for decades in Dorchester County. As local group All4Love will now be running the Dorchester County youth football program.
Co-Founder, Lucas Thorpe walked us through the decision of hosting the county’s youth football and cheer program preventing it from being dissolved.
“And, we’re bringing it over to offer as one of our programs, where we can continue to go after more resources. And, some structure for this program to really, just keep tackle football and cheer, and a crucial aspect of our community,” says Lucas.
While fellow Co-Founder, Khalil Johnson, whose been through the program, says this program is not just for getting kids in the community active. It helps them to build character as they go in to high school.
Khalil tells WMDT, “I seen a lot of my friends go through it. And, now it being an impact here, in this day and age, there’s a lot of connection, a lot of community, a lot of development. From internal to external…”
Offering that kind of development to the boys and girls of Dorchester County goes a long way.
“…Just building character, to channel a lot of emotional regulation for a lot of our, a lot of the boys that in and even for the girls for cheer. You know, in a sense of community and belonging,” says Khalil.
Preserving the youth football and cheer program supports what All4Love wants for kids in Cambridge.
“We saw this as an opportunity not just to save a program, but to continue to invest in the lives of, of kids and families…” says Lucas.
