Wicomico Co. Public Library to host “Read and Roam” event

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.- The Wicomico County Public Library wants you to kick off the new year with a new genre.

Next Saturday, the Centre Branch location is hosting a “Read and Roam” event, where folks are encouraged to learn about a new genre and find new reading partners.

Librarian, Adele Voght said it can be hard to commit to reading books, but they’re hoping to help eliminate the hurdles and introduce participants to new literature.

“I’m like, what if we just did a genre club instead, where you don’t have to read a book, because everybody’s so busy with their lives,” Voght said. “You can come in, and you can learn, maybe this is a genre I want to dip my toes into, or, ‘I really like that, and more people need to learn more about this certain author.”

The free event will kick off at 11 a.m. at the Centre Branch.
