UPDATE: Milford PD Arrest Suspect for After-Hours Bank Burglary
UPDATE: Police arrested 26-year-old John A. Carey Jr. of Dover in connection with the attempted burglary that took place on Jan. 8.
On Friday, Jan. 9, Carey was charged with third degree attempted burglary, attempted theft of $1,500 or greater, criminal mischief of $5,000 or more, and third degree criminal trespassing. He was arraigned and committed to the Department of Corrections on $4,050 secured bond. He was also ordered to have no contact with all Del-One Federal Credit Union locations.
MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary at Del-One Federal Credit Union that occurred after-hours.
Police responded to the bank on Thursday, Jan. 8, after employees reported damage to the glass front door. Using video surveillance footage, they learned that an unknown male subject attempted to gain entry into the bank using a rock.
Police say they have identified the man pictured in the surveillance footage, but have not released any additional details about an arrest at this time.
