UPDATE: MSP Arrest Two Teenagers in Fatal Princess Anne Shooting

UPDATE: Maryland State Police (MSP) have arrested two juveniles in connection with Monday’s fatal shooting in Princess Anne.

Police say the the juveniles, a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, both of Salisbury, are charged with first degree felony murder, second degree murder, robbery, and other related charges. Additional arrests are expected pending the ongoing investigation.

The girl was located shortly after the shooting in the area of Stewart Neck Road and Beckford Road. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Princess Anne Barrack for processing. She is currently being held at the Somerset County Detention Center without bond. The boy was taken into custody without incident at his residence in Salisbury this morning, at 9:45 a.m. Police say he is currently at the Salisbury Barrack for processing.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 26, Somerset County deputies and MSP troopers responded to the 11000 block of Dryden Lane for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, police located two victims suffering apparent gunshot wounds inside a 2026 Kia Seltos SUV parked in the roadway. Their preliminary investigation indicates this was not a random act of violence, but a motive has not yet been determined.

The first victim, identified as 46-year-old Derrick Knox of Salisbury, was pronounced deceased on scene. The cause and manner of his death are pending autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A second victim, identified as 41-year-old Kevin Pillar of Salisbury, was  transported by MSP Aviation Command to a shock trauma center for medical treatment.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Maryland State Police (MSP) are investigating a fatal shooting in Princess Anne.

It happened around 2 p.m. Monday on Bratten Avenue.

According to Maryland State Police, one person was pronounced dead on scene by emergency medical personnel.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office requested help from the MSP Homicide Unit and is assisting with the investigation, along with the Office of the State’s Attorney in Somerset County.

Investigators believe there is no threat to public safety.
