Three Easton Women Arrested for Target Theft Scheme

STEVENSVILLE, Md. – The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three women in connection with multiple shoplifting incidents on Thursday evening.

On Jan. 8 at 5:10 p.m., deputies responded to the Stevensville Target for a report of a theft in progress. The business’s loss prevention (LP) officer told police he observed a group of three women, who had an infant with them, placing merchandise inside of a plastic tote. He also identified one of the suspects as an alleged previous shoplifter.

Upon arrival on the scene, deputies staged in the shopping center parking lot and collaborated with the LP officer to take the women into custody. After exiting the store, the women, later identified as 33-year-old Deshawnatiz Johnson, 30-year-old Montashia Roberts, and 24-year-old Kyleigh Ceja, were stopped and detained. They were all arrested on charges of theft between $100 and $1500, and theft scheme between $1,500 to $25,000.

Police recovered a total of $922 worth of stolen merchandise from the women. During a search of Ceja, police discovered a controlled dangerous substance in her purse. A computer check found that she also had an extraditable felony warrant out of Virginia.

Using surveillance footage, police were able to positively identify all three women as suspects in a previous theft from the store on Dec. 23, 2025. The value of stolen merchandise between the two thefts is totaled at $1,608.
