Temp. Water Outage to Impact Over 500 Homes in Assateague Pointe

BERLIN, Md. – Worcester County Public Works will be shutting off water in the Assateague Pointe Service Area to install two isolation valves on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Crews will work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Water is service is expected to be impacted for approximately six to nine hours within that window. In the event of a weather delay, officials say the alternate date will be Jan. 14.

The installation will impact an estimated 523 homes in the following areas:

  • Assateague Way
  • West/East Cannonball Drive
  • North/South Longboat Way
  • East/West Helmsman Way
  • Pegleg Way
  • North/South Bay Breeze Drive
  • Windlass Way
  • Rumrunner Drive
  • North/South Salt Pond Way
  • Bay Ridge Drive
  • Bay Watch Drive
  • Skipjack Drive
  • East West Yardarm Drive
  • East/West Buccaneer Drive

Following the installations, residents may experience brown water. In such cases, allow the water to run for a few minutes until it becomes clear. If the water remains brown, residents are asked to contact the Water and Wastewater Division at 410-641-5251.
