Talbot Co. Hosts Annual Hoop Shoot
(EASTON, Md) – The Talbot County community was getting active in honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day.
Volunteers at the Elk’s Lodge hosted their second annual Hoop Shoot for local kids following the MLK Classic at the talbot county community center.
The Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest for children in grades five through eight.
Organizers say they had a great turnout this year, and that the event helps them fulfill their mission of connecting with younger residents of Talbot County.
“It means a lot. We’re interfacing with the community. We’re helping the kids learn a skill, build character. And that’s what it’s about,” says Organizer, Melvin Ewell.
