Seaford PD Arrests 19-Year-Old on Weapons, Drug Charges

SEAFORD, Del. – The Seaford Police Department (SPD) has arrested a 19-year-old on weapons and drug charges after conducting a traffic stop on Saturday.

Just after midnight on Jan. 10, police arrested Jai’Don Major of Hurlock after pulling him over for a broken headlight on West Stein Highway. During the stop, officers detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Major was detained after he disclosed to police that he had a concealed firearm.

Police searched Major and located a 9mm “ghost” handgun with a 30-round magazine. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police found ammunition of multiple calibers, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Major was transported to SPD and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of an untraceable firearm, and related gun and drug offenses. He was arraigned and committed to the Department of Corrections on $53,200 cash bail.
