Seaford boy’s basketball soars past Lake Forest for fifth straight win
SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford boy’s basketball took down Lake Forest 60-38 Tuesday night in Seaford.
The Blue Jays jumped ahead early, leading 13-5 at the end of the first quarter. Lake Forest fought back in the next frame, with a pair of threes from Keylund Bailey sparking a run that closed the gap to one point at 17-16 with 4:17 remaining in the second quarter. Seaford outscored the Spartans 9-0 from that point to close the half, taking a 26-16 lead into the break.
The home team expanded their lead to 14 in the third quarter, with Aizyon Matthews and Areon Purnell combining to score 14 of Seaford’s 15 points in the quarter. Matthews led all scorers with 17 in the game.
The Blue Jays had no trouble putting the game away in the final period, outscoring Lake Forest by another eight points for a 22-point victory.
The result marked Seaford’s fifth straight victory, moving them to 8-3 on the season. The Blue Jays’ next game is on Tuesday, January 27th at 5:30 p.m. at Indian River.
