Salisbury Zoo Appoints New Assistant Director

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Zoo has announced that Jamie Nichols has accepted the position of assistant director. 

Nichols hiring marks the completion of the Zoo’s senior leadership team. The Zoo says she was selected following a competitive hiring process that included several highly qualified candidates.  Throughout the selection process, Nichols distinguished herself as the top candidate to employers. Officials also say that over the past three years, Nichols has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to the Salisbury Zoo through her professionalism, leadership, and selfless dedication.

“Jamie has proven herself to be a thoughtful leader who understands both the day-to-day operations of the Zoo and its long-term vision,” Chuck Eicholz, Zoo Director said. “We are confident she will be an outstanding addition to our senior leadership team as we move forward.”

As assistant director, Nichols will oversee revenue generation initiatives and work to develop and strengthen partnerships within the community. She will also provide leadership oversight for Guest Services, Education, Marketing, and Media Relations.

The Salisbury Zoo will be hosting a public forum at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Parkside High School Auditorium. For more information, click here.
