Queen Anne’s Co. Sheriff’s Office Seeking Public Assistance in Identifying Pickpocket
STEVENSVILLE, Md. – The Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff is is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a woman believed to be responsible for a series of wallet thefts at local grocery stores.
Police say the suspect is described as an older African American woman who is often seen carrying a navy-blue purse. She has been captured on surveillance footage during multiple theft incidents at the Stevensville Food Lion and Safeway locations. Each incident occurred separately and involved elderly victims. In several cases, the suspect reportedly approached victims under the guise of offering assistance with reaching items or engaging them in casual conversation before stealing their wallet.
