Open House at Westminster Village Senior Living Facility
DOVER, Del. – The Westminster Village of Assisted Living held an open house to celebrate a new year and new beginnings.
Wendy Nerad has been the executive director for 25 years. She cut the ribbon to celebrate the renovations and the 25th anniversary.
“Most of the staff that I hired 25 years ago are still here. You don’t see that kind of dedication, that longevity.”
The Westminster Village hosted the open house to discover life and tour the newly renovated assisted living spaces.
Dover Council Member, Brian E Lewis, says that this has been a huge asset for the community. “My father-in-law and mother-in-law were residents here, and I have only positive things to speak for this village.”
There was live entertainment, refreshments, and a meet and greet with the community life team. Harriete Hall is a resident there, and she says it has enjoyed seeing it evolve.
“In the length of time I’ve been on campus, which is going on 15 years, of course I’ve seen the changes, most of them for the better.”
Hall adds the village is very inclusive to all residents, and even has some of the best home cooked meals. “Conscious of good home-cooked type food, we are not a gourmet kitchen, don’t pretend to be, we try to make everybody feel at home.”
