Front Street Bridge Painting Project Starts Jan. 15

SEAFORD, Del. – The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will begin work on the Front Street Bridge on Thursday, Jan. 15.

The work is being conducted as part of a statewide bridge painting program. Work is expected to continue through early-April. 

DelDOT says all cleaning and painting operations at the bridge will be completed under a full detour of Front Street. Southbound motorists will turn left onto Middleford Road, right onto US-13 Sussex Highway, right onto Concord Road, and arrive back at Front Street. Northbound motorists will turn right onto Concord Road, left onto US-13 Sussex Highway, left onto Middleford Road, and arrive back at Front Street.

The hours of permissible bridge opening are scheduled from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Pedestrian access will be maintained across the bridge at all times.
