Early Numbers for 5th Annual Ice & Oyster Festival

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce cleaning up following the 5th annual Ice & Oyster Festival.

While the chamber is still crunching the numbers from the weekend’s festivities, President Bill Christopher says the city hosted roughly eight thousand festivalgoers Friday and Saturday.

He says, for mid-January, downtown Cambridge was hopping with visitors.

“There weren’t empty seats in much of the restaurants. You could see through the windows that they were full. I think the retail shops all did really well in terms of, both Friday and Saturday in terms of people coming in and out of those, we had a lot of smiling, happy faces at the event.”

Organizers say they are already preparing for next year’s festival.
