Dorchester Historical Society Rings in New Year with Tradition
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – And one Dorchester County group is preparing to ring in the new year while celebrating history.
The Dorchester County Historical Society is hosting their annual Traditional Tea Event Saturday to celebrate the start of the new year.
Participants will get to enjoy teas as if they were drinking them over 250 years ago.
The Historical Society’s Director says he’s looking forward to celebrating the coming year and honoring the past at the same time.
“To experience and taste parts of it and imagine and connect to what they felt in a new year. Was it hope? Was it trepidation? Was it a bit of luck or a bit of bad luck? We experienced exactly what they did over 250 years ago,” says Historical Society Director, Marcos Salaverria.
The event will start at 11 A.M. at the Meredith House in Cambridge.
Only a few spots remain, but if you’re interested in taking part in the event this Saturday, January 3rd, you can reach the Dorchester County Historical Society at dchs@verizon.net
