(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Dorchester County Health Department is inviting local families to a presentation on underage cannabis use.

They’re holding a community discussion late Thursday afternoon, and a virtual session Monday morning to educate families about how cannabis use impacts children and teens.

The discussion is meant to gauge feedback from the community about how to help keep cannabis from underage users…
Especially as they may not be getting marijuana from the safest of places.

“Teens are not walking into a licensed dispensary and buying regulated products. So that opens the concern of their not understanding what potency the products they’re acquiring are. And they may not know if there’s other substances being mixed into what they’re purchasing,” says Drug Prevention Coordinator, Kirsten Hurley.

The in-person session will take place at the health department office on Race street from three-thirty to five PM Thursday.
The virtual session will be held on Monday, January 26th from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.
