Discover Delmarva Arts: We Are Limitless Studios
SALISBURY, Md. — Founded in 2019, We Are Limitless Studios specializes in creating murals that don’t just beautify spaces, but uplifts the communities surrounding them. Founder Brandon Bell has lived on the Eastern Shore for a decade.
His mission is simple: “It’s to amplify the voices, not just beautify spaces, but amplify the voices of those who are unheard and just the missions of all the businesses, organizations and just the community itself through mural art,” Bell said.
Bell says it’s the community — showing up, supporting, and participating, that has driven him to keep going and helped him find his studio’s purpose.
“It really dealt with that first one that we did. As soon as the public started getting really engaged with what we were doing… People were saying thank you and, you know, ‘oh my gosh,’ and I was just not used to that aside from someone like my mom or somebody saying, ‘this is awesome.'”
Visit Downtown Salisbury and it’s hard to miss — The studio’s first large scale art piece, “Believe,” created for Delmarva Veteran Builders — was made to inspire hope and remind the community of what’s possible.
“The CEO of that company [Delmarva Veteran Builders], he really wanted the town to believe in itself — that possibilities are here, there’s opportunity here, there’s growth here, and there’s people that are here that care. The goal overall was to amplify that as best as we could in a subjective manner, because that’s ultimately what it is, but we did choose to actually use the word believe on that [mural] because we did want to actually be very strong on what our messaging was.”
Building off their community-centered mission, We Are Limitless Studios is hosting the inaugural Shore Walls Mural Festival in May, where artists will help bring several murals to life across the City of Salisbury.
“My goal is for people from Easton, Cambridge, you name it, to really look at Salisbury as a place of opportunity, because these walls aren’t just ours; we’re going to be able to have open calls and allow people from across the region, as well as have a national wall for someone to come out and be able to paint. But my biggest objective with that is to include people in a way they’ve never been included before.”
