DEMA Issues Cold Weather Advisory Ahead of Snow Storm
DELAWARE – The Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) has issued a cold weather advisory ahead of the winter storm expected this weekend.
The weather advisory, which includes Kent County and inland Sussex, warns of very cold wind chills as low as eight degrees Fahrenheit below freezing. The advisory is in effect from midnight on Jan. 23, until 10:00 a.m. on Jan. 24.
The agency warns that these temperatures could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Additionally, frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed.
Residents are advised to use caution while traveling outside, keep pets indoors, and wear appropriate clothing, including a hat and gloves.
