Delaware Housing Authority runs mobile food pantry in Dover
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware State Housing Authority brought their mobile food pantry to Kent County Thursday,
Residents from Liberty Court Apartments and surrounding communities came out for the event.
The Housing Authority had a steady stream of vehicles to pick up starches, juices, and meats from Perdue.
Director of the Public Housing Authority for DSHA, Elana Davis, says it’s all part of their mission to support Delaware residents.
“This is the first time we’ve done an event like this in many years, but we wanted to work with the Food Bank, and bring food to our properties, along with the local Delawareans that are going to be served by the local Food Bank.”
The Housing Authority tells WMDT that they handed out fresh food and produce to more than 200 households today.
