Delaware Author Recognized for Story on Her Dog

(SEAFORD, Del) – One local author is getting some national recognition.
Author Chris Strassel of Seaford was recently recognized for her children’s book, Courageous Clooney in New York City’s Big Book Awards.
The book is based on the true story of her dog, Clooney, and his battle with heartworms following his adoption in 2022.
Chris says she’s grateful for the many opportunities both on the Eastern Shore and Nationally to share a story and raise awareness.
She tells WMDT, “It’s tremendous. The more people because we’re taking half the profits from book sales and donating them back into our community and other communities to help out one positive target, as a matter of fact.”
Strassel says her book has been sold in local stores and even a local animal hospital to help spread awareness for dog owners about heartworms.
