DE Senator Dave Lawson to Retire
MARYDEL, Del. – Delaware Senator Dave Lawson announced on Wednesday that he would not be running for reelection in 2026.
Lawson has served as a Republican representing the 15th District since 2010. He issued a statement thanking his constituents for their support, and to his colleagues, both past and present.
“After much thought and prayer, I have decided that I will not seek re-election to the Delaware State Senate in 2026 and will retire at the conclusion of my term,” Lawson said in part. “I am grateful to the constituents who placed their trust in me, the colleagues I have served with, and the wonderful staff who work every day on behalf of Delawareans. While this chapter is coming to a close, my commitment to service and to the values that brought me to public office will never go away. I look forward to spending more time with my family and remaining engaged in our community in new ways, while continuing to support the great state of Delaware and the people I have been proud to represent.”
