SALISBURY, Md. – Lots of activities are coming to Salisbury this Saturday, Dec. 13.

Parsons Cemetery will participate in Wreaths Across America, a national event to honor the nearly 1400 veterans buried at our cemetery. Gates will open at 9:00 a.m., shortly followed by a parade at 9:30 a.m. The wreath-laying ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m.

Next up, enjoy tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Why go wait in line at the mall to see Santa, when he will be at Poplar Hill Mansion? Bring the kids to have peppermint tea, punch, and assorted sweets, all while visiting and taking pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Plus, photos will be mailed to your home address for just five dollars. Come see the house fully decorated for the holiday season!

Lastly, join us for some holiday fun while Rockin’ Around the Zoo, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This family-friendly event invites you to stroll through the Zoo’s twinkling light trails, while joining in with our carolers as you sing to some of your favorite zoo animals! Listen to live holiday music at the Pavilion and Holly Circle stage, visit Santa Claus in his Christmas cottage all while enjoying cocoa, treats & so much more.

Attendees should be sure dress warmly! This event will be held outside, and it will be dark. Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight for your family, but phone flashlights are not permitted. Before the walk, each family will be given a red film to place over their flashlight. This is to protect the animals while you walk! One film will be provided to each family, as the quantity is limited.

For more information, contact the Guest Services Department. Admission is $10 per person, $5 for Zoo members, and free for children under two years of age. You can grab your tickets here.

Rockin’ Around the Zoo is going on next weekend as well—don’t miss it!
