WCPS CTE Program Receives Refurbished Police Vehicle
SALISBURY, Md. – On Wednesday, Wicomico County Public Schools (WCPS) announced a new partnership between the district and the Salisbury Police Department.
The Career & Technical Education (CTE) program at Parkside High School received a retired police vehicle from the department. The vehicle was since refurbished by students in the CTE Collision Repair and Criminal Justice classes. They worked diligently to restore the vehicle’s exterior and mechanical systems.
School leadership says that the donation will enhance safety at the school. The vehicle is set to serve as a dedicated patrol unit for the high school and Schumaker Complex campus, reinforcing the district’s commitment to safety.
Police Chief David Meienschein, Mayor Randy Taylor, and members of the City’s command staff joined students and staff for the unveiling of the newly recommissioned training vehicle.
