Water main break forces closure of Crisfield Emergency Department
CRISFIELD, Md. — A water main break in Crisfield has forced the temporary closure of the Emergency Department and several outpatient services at TidalHealth McCready Pavilion, hospital officials said Tuesday.
Hospital officials are urging anyone experiencing a medical emergency to call 9-1-1 rather than traveling to the Crisfield facility.
Patients needing urgent but non-emergency care are being directed to Your Doc’s In, located at 1511 Ocean Highway in Pocomoke. The urgent care center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be reached at 443-210-2596.
TidalHealth officials said the TidalHealth Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and TidalHealth Chesapeake Cove Assisted Living Facility remain fully operational and continue to have heat and running water. Residents at those facilities are receiving care as usual.
Crews are working with local utilities to complete repairs, and hospital officials expect service to be restored later Tuesday evening. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
