Vehicle Fire Spreads to Home in Dorchester Co.
EAST NEW MARKET, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a vehicle fire that occurred Monday afternoon.
At 2:33 p.m. on Dec. 22, crews from the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department and other local companies responded to a residence on Centennial Road following the owner’s report of a fire. Twenty firefighters battled the blaze for 10 minutes before successfully extinguishing it.
The burning car was parked next to a one-story home, and caused subsequent damage to the exterior. The total damage sustained to the property is estimated to be worth $25,000. A cause has not been determined at this time.
