Vacant House Catches Fire in Caroline Co.; Fire Marshal Investigating
HENDERSON, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that damaged a vacant house in Caroline County on Friday afternoon.
At 12:07 p.m. on Nov. 28, crews from the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company responded to a two-story structure on Taylor Road after a passerby reported a fire. Twenty firefighters battled the blaze for 50 minutes before successfully extinguishing the flames.
The fire is believed to have originated in the interior of the building, but a preliminary cause has not been determined at this time. The total damage to the property is estimated to be valued at $10,000.
