UPDATE: Man Arrested for Cedar Chase Apartment Robberies

UPDATE: The Dover Police Department has arrested a man in connection with attempted robbery that occurred at Cedar Chase Apartments last month.

Police say an investigation led them to secure warrants for 23-year-old Nashere Edwards of Dover. Edwards was also linked to a robbery that occurred in March of last year at the same location, where he reportedly displayed a handgun and took property from a victim.

Edwards was arrested without incident on Dec. 9, and charged with first degree robbery, two counts of attempted first degree robbery, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and related gun charges. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $147,000 cash bail.

 

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department (DPD) is currently investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Sunday evening.

Police responded to the Cedar Chase Apartments at 6:35 p.m. on Nov. 9 following the report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival on the scene, officers contacted the victims.

A preliminary investigation found that an individual approached the victims, and displayed a handgun before demanding money. The victims did not comply and were able to drive away without injury.

The suspect is described as a black male and 5’4″ tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a camouflage face covering, a black hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. Dover Police have no additional leads at this time.
