UPDATE: Victims Identified in Fatal Crash on Rt. 13 in Accomack Co.

UPDATE: Virginia State Police have identified 73-year-old Kim K. Lombardi of Milton, Delaware as the driver that died in a fatal crash in Mappsville on Friday afternoon.

Officers have also provided new details about the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado involved in the crash. The driver of the Silverado was identified as 42-year-old Nathan A. Bean of Newport News, Virginia. Bean and one juvenile passenger were air-lifted to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The other three passengers included one adult and two additional juveniles. 

MAPPSVILLE, Va. – The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Route 13 in Accomack County on Friday afternoon.

At 2:07 p.m. on Nov. 28, a 2021 Nissan Versa was travelling northbound, near the intersection with Gillespie Lane, when it crossed the median and struck a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado head-on.

The driver of the Versa was pronounced dead on the scene. Details about the victim have not been released at this time.

There were five people in the Chevrolet Silverado.  The driver and one passenger were air-lifted to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The three other passengers were transported to area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
